Cuba

The collaboration with the Technological University of Havana “José Antonio Echeverría” (CUJAE) has been ongoing for several years, albeit solely online. Due to the significant distance, it has not been possible to organize personal visits that would allow to elevate the collaboration to a different level, which would be possible if the project qualifies for funding. To date, there have been many online working meetings; however, both sides have plans for long-term collaboration in both educational and scientific domains. Collaboration between the Koszalin University of Technology and the Technological University of Havana “José Antonio Echeverría” (CUJAE) within the scientific team would enhance access to innovative research methods and techniques, resulting in diversification of available educational forms and raising the standard of education in both universities. Continuing cooperation in an international environment, gained experience, and contact with other practices promote scientific development, foster collaboration within grants, training, workshops, conferences, provide opportunities for publication in recognized scientific journals, and enable access to other forms of idea exchange initiated by partner universities.
The educational profile of PK and CUJAE is similar, as both are primarily technical universities, which also offer courses in economics and humanities and social sciences. Continuing the exchange of scientific staff for both universities will be beneficial, as it promotes the comparison and updating of existing courses and teaching methods.
Continuation of this cooperation within KA-171 will introduce a non-European perspective into the program, which would not only impact the deepening of knowledge and skills of the program participants but also their intercultural awareness, as nurturing respect and understanding for cultural and worldview diversity is essential in the process of acquiring knowledge and education. The Erasmus+ program promotes internationalization of higher education and enables the development of institutions of this level through exchange of ideas and mutual activation of employees. Within the Framework Rules of Implementation of the Erasmus+ Program at PK, there are provisions regarding recruitment and qualification for the program. Meanwhile, the Cuban university actively promotes and supports internationalization, focusing on increasing the level of studies and raising the status of scientists in the national and global educational market. The mission of partner universities is to strive for scientific excellence in each sphere of their multidisciplinary activities, especially in the field of research innovation, sustainable development, and social responsibility. According to the strategic development plan of both universities, international cooperation is a significant condition for achieving the intended goals. Within their vision, partner universities advocate international cooperation in grant writing and joint publications, exchange programs, international conferences and workshops, as well as offering courses in English to popularize multidisciplinarity.
